The meeting began in the usual fashion with grace said by Bill Campbell, O Canada led by Don Shaw followed by a toast to Her Majesty the Queen and Canada. President Larry introduced the head table: Doug Geddie, Tim Wright, Charlene MacDonald, Larry Iggulden, Jim Denham, Tom Arkell and Heather Combe.
Heather introduced the following guests: Terry Kellar guest of Rick Merritt, George Hostick guest of Nancy, John Burroughs guest of Eugene Gillies, Ian Ellingham guest of John Crossingham, Greg Wight guest of Doug Geddie, Mark, Diane, Patty and Jack Sebeslav, Jacqui and Doug Dendening all guests of the foundation.
Heather then introduced Tom Arkell as the member in the spot light. Tom was introduced to our club by John Bird. Tom is the Director of Community Service at Brock University. Tom is married to Pat and has three sons. He has served our club as a Director from 2003 to 2005 and is the second President elect for 2005-2006.

George Darte presented a Paul Harris Award to past member Jack Sebeslav. Jack first joined our club in 1981 and again in 1994. The award was given in recognition of an outstanding contribution to our club's TV Auction. In the early years of our auction Jack and former member Murray Colter performed all the MC duties. Jack recounted several humorous incidents and was happy to have his wife and family members present when he received the Paul Harris Fellowship.

John Crossingham gave President Larry the present of sainthood for his birthday. John also announced that our Christmas program will consist of Chris Blake performing a Christmas reading from Stewart MacLean. John also challenged our club to help raise $20,000 for the bridge needed to complete the circle route. John is willing to personally match donations up to $10,000.

Larry announced that there will be a board meeting on Tuesday December 20 th. He also announced that the Easter Seals Society will be closing Camp Lakewood. The nominations committee has also released the names standing for the next board.

Carol Stymiest started happy dollars by announcing that her daughter has graduated from the RCMP Academy.
- Angus Adams was happy to congratulate Jack on winning the PH Award.
- John TeBrake was happy to have today's program.
- John Snowling thanked Jack for all his past work and promoted next week's meeting.
- Roger Segalin congratulated Jack.
- George Park thanked Jack and was happy to announce that the General provides excellent care if anyone needs a new hip.
- Chris Bangham returned from a golf trip in the Dominican and was happy to donate medical supplies through not just tourists. Chris presented our club with a Rotary banner from the Dominican.
- Foster was happy to celebrate his 60 th birthday. He presented Larry with a Boone inspired cap.
- Pat Rooney was happy to be back from a trip to Australia and New Zealand. She described a reconstructive surgery project of one of the clubs she visited and brought warm welcomes from former exchange student Brianna.
- Nancy Hostick received an email from Bill Cade congratulating her on the TV auction. Nancy thanked Angus Adams for his tireless work being the historian for the auction.
50/50 Draw:
Rick Merritt failed to draw the winning ticket for the $353 jackpot.

Doug Geddie began the program by announcing with regret the closure of Camp Lakewood. The camp was started in part by the support of our club but Easter Seals Society deemed it non essential and closed it. Our club still helps to send local kids to camp in NOTL through the support of activities like our annual Algoma Rotary Golf tournament. Doug then introduced Tim Wright.
Tim is the CEO of the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre. The centre was established in 1965 and moved to their existing site in 1969. It is a centre that provides children speech and physical rehab services. Local children ages 6 months to 21 years who typically suffer from cerebral palsy, downs syndrome and spinal bifida, among other afflictions use the centre.

Tim acknowledged the work of current members Bill Orr, John TeBrake, Terry Wilkes and Roger Segalin, all of whom have either in the past or present worked for the centre. The annual golf tournament helps to raise funds to send needy children to summer camp at the Red Roof Retreat in NOTL.
Tim passed the mike over to Charlene MacDonald. Charlene is the Centre's Manager for school age services and clinics. She is a speech pathologist and has worked at the centre for 20 years.
Charlene described how the money we raise is used. Some of the money is being used to retrofit a kitchen to make it fully accessible. Charlene was extremely proud to describe how our funds are used to provide a gait analysis in the treatment of CP.
Earl Alton and Greg Wight presented a cheque in the amount of $38,500 from the proceeds of this year's golf tournament to Tim and Charlene.

John Burroughs is sponsored by Eugene Gillies. John has retired after a life-time of employment as an Engineer at Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation. He lives in Thorold with his wife, Merilee, and they have two adult daughters, Sarah and Janet. John enjoys photography, hiking and biking.
President-Elect Rick Merritt has proposed Terry Kellar for membership. Terry is a recently retired district VP from CIBC. He has extensive community involvement when with bank, including the CIBC Run for the Cure, and in retirement, wishes to continue to contribute to the community through Rotary. Terry enjoys hunting, golf and recreational hockey. He is married to Linda, and has two children, Ryan and Amelia, currently attending Queen's University.
