Foster Zanutto, Club Secretary, updated members on Rotary's attendance policy. Our 60% rate of attendance, when compared to other clubs in the district, is about mid range. Members can makeup for a missed meeting by one of the following activities, which must be done either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the missed meeting: attend a committee meeting, attend a meeting at another club, do an e-club meeting on our Rotary website. It is incumbent on the member to make sure they complete a makeup form and state exactly to which missed meeting the makeup is to be allocated. These forms are available from committee chairs or from the reception desks at other clubs.

Committee Chairs are meeting today after the meeting
Membership Committee meeting is taking place on Tuesday Sept. 5 at the George Darte Funeral Home.

GUEST SPEAKER
Sam Walters reminded the early leavers to pick up their TV Auction Canvas Kit.
The theme this year is Rock 'n Roll - we're going to break records and climb to the top of the charts.
He talked about the Early Bird Incentive for getting in items. The prize is a $100 dinner for two. Tickets are available as follows:
1 ticket for every $50 in items brought in by Sept. 21
1 ticket for every $200 in items brought in between 9/21 and 10/5
1 ticket for every $500 in items brought in between 10/5 and 10/19
Basically if you bring in $2000 in items by 9/21 you receive 40 tickets for the contest; if the same amount is brought in by 10/5, only 10 tickets; and if the same amount by 10/19 you receive only 4 tickets.
The goal this year is $180,000 worth of items.
Sam encouraged us to keep moving forward with some well-timed humour.
There is a prize for the team raising the most funds. The volunteers will start to receive items the meeting of Sept. 14 th .
Lots of ideas in the kits on what sells well and what doesn't.
The big news is that members can enter their items on-line at our club's website. Sam and Mark demonstrated how to do this. There will be more instruction throughout the canvas.
